Claudia Castro-Leverett and Thomas Leverett, along with Kirtan singer Adam Bauer, are offering a unique devotional journey to India in January 2020.  They’ll be joined by friends RadhaKunda Das and Prem Gauranga Das, both Indian monks that have guided hundreds of spiritual journeys in India.

All transportation, meals, lodging and tours are included. All meals will be vegan/ vegetarian.

Three additional intra-India flights (very affordable — estimate US$200 for all) and the round-trip ticket to India (fly into Mumbai to arrive on or before Sunday, January 19th, 2020 and fly out of Delhi on or after Saturday, February 1st) are not included.

This is a spiritual pilgrimage for those truly looking for a deeper journey to the amazing place that is India.

India has a way of transforming our perspective of life and entices us with its sacred places, amazing food, mystical nature and humble, beautiful people and culture. This is the way to see India: through spiritual eyes, guided along the path by devotionally-oriented humans eager to see Grace in all things, all places, all beings.

This is a journey unlike any other. We will be challenged simply by the nature of opening into a different culture and environment. We will be exposed to poverty and the reality of how many of our fellow brothers and sisters live, all to help grow our awareness to the infinite struggle of our humanity and also to the infinite ways that we can be of service to each other in this life — to not stay blinded to the great needs of others.

We ask that you come with not only compassionate eyes and a tender acceptance of life, but also ready to have your hearts opened a thousand ways over.

Begin at the award-winning Govardhan Eco Village where we will have satsang with Radhanath Swami, Seva (selfless service) with the children of the community, entry and private passes to the world-renowned Flower Festival in Mumbai. Then we will visit the foothills of the mighty Himalayas, including sacred caves, the great Ganges River, and sacred sites in Rishikesh; finally we will commune in the ancient holy town of Vrindavan, visiting many temples, enjoy sunset boat rides on the sacred Yamuna River, with a special trip to Food for Life (FFL), an amazing school that helps girls from deeply impoverished backgrounds, providing them with daily food, education and a loving school environment. FFL was one of Bhakti pioneer Shyamdas’ favorite charitable groups in India, and we are honored to spend days following in his footsteps in this sacred land of Vraja, where Krishna’s pastimes are detailed in such sacred scriptures as the Srimad Bhagavatam.

Included are daily morning yoga and meditation practices with Claudia or Thomas, and evening kirtan (devotional mantra chanting) sessions with Adam.

Join us for this special 12-day journey of deeper seeing into three sacred, beautiful and mystical places in incredible India.

This is our travel itinerary:

Sunday, January 19th — Arrival to Mumbai, pick up from the airport to hotel. Group welcome dinner, orientation.

Monday, January 20th— Depart for Govardhan Eco Village (GEV), a spiritual oasis that illustrates the beauty of “simple living and higher thinking,” being of service and preserving our Mother Earth to improve the quality of life for all.

Monday, January 20th– 23rdat GEV — Learn about the basics of organic farming and sustainable living. We will assist and offer seva (service) to several initiatives in rural healthcare and education programs. We will go on mountain hikes and learn about Indian Vedic Culture. We will engage in several lectures, programs and a private satsang offered by Radhanath Swami, spiritual teacher, community builder, activist and acclaimed author of the The Journey Homeand The Journey Within. We will dive deeper into our yoga and meditation practices as we acclimate to India.

Friday, January 24th— Travel to Mumbai for visits to various temples, markets and spots along the Arabian Sea.

Saturday, January 25th— Spend all day in Mumbai. We will start with the ritual of devotional petal plucking in preparation for the evening at the renowned Flower Festival. This is a truly unforgettable experience: being showered with thousands of petals while singing and dancing with hundreds of joyous devotees!

Sunday, January 26th— Travel day to Rishikesh, the great “City of the Yogis.”

Monday, January 27-29th—Exploring Rishikesh, the gateway to the Himalayas. We stay in a fabulous resort right along the Ganges River. We will enjoy aarti ceremonies and meditations along the banks of the great Ganges, visit sacred caves and temples, and adventure along winding roads to high mountaintops of the Himalayan foothills. We will witness places of great stories and feel the energy of these sacred places, like Devprayag, where two rivers join and the great Ganges begins. There will be the option for some to go white water rafting or stay back for the always adventurous shopping experience among many local shopkeepers. We will partake in a fire puja and learn about rituals the ancient yogis utilized to clear the path.

Wednesday, January 29th— Travel day: Fly to Delhi and drive to Vraja. We’ll get settled and enjoy an extended evening kirtan and dinner in Vrindavan.

Thursday, January 30th – Saturday, February 1stth— Stay in Vrindavan, near the holy birthplaces of Radha and Krishna, and land of innumerable ancient temples. We will visit the great saint Neem Karoli Baba’s famous temple, as well as wander barefoot along the Govardhan Hill, exploring sacred sites along the way. We willexplore (and try not to let the mischievous monkeys steal our glasses!) the fabulous Loi Bazar, enjoy gentle sunset Yamuna River boat rides, eat marvelous food made by holy beings who have been consecrating this Prasad by chanting and praying while cooking. A major highlight of this trip is visiting and sharing with the Sandipani Muni Girls School at Food for Life-Vrindavan (FFLV) that provides over 1500 girls with meals, uniforms, transportation to and from school, a free education, skills training and medical help until they are 18. This program helps take the girls from the grips of intense poverty to give them opportunity. FFLV aims to keep the girls in school until they are 18 to prevent early marriage. They also encourage & support girls to pursue university education if they so desire.

Saturday early evening, we make our way to the airport in Delhi to head home, or continue wherever else your inspiration takes you.
