the Shyamcast Project

A new podcast–launching later in 2023–featuring a series of live archival recordings of classic Shyamdas programs–remastered and released publicly for the first time.

Respected Bhakti scholar, practitioner, translator and kirtan singer Shyamdas (1953-2013) was known for his inspiring and bhava-filled kirtan programs, sharing from the deep river of Indian devotional teachings Shyam absorbed during his lifetime immersion in Bhakti.

Shyamdas’ longtime bass player Adam Bauer captured field recordings of many of these US-based live events between 2006-2012, yielding a trove of great music, stories and teachings from the rich traditions of Bhakti and Vedanta, with a focus on Pushti Marg, the Path of Grace.

Wonder Mountain is delighted to partner with Adam and the Shyamdas Foundation to present Shyamcast: monthly releases from this never-before heard library of live archival field recordings.  Accompanying interviews will feature Shyamdas’ friends, bandmates, and community sharing stories and teachings, and exploring the rich Lilas of this unique Bhakta, Shyamdas.
